At
Silver Leaf each frame is handmade at the shop. Beginning with raw
wood, each finish is crafted to suit the individual
piece of art. A variety of different techniques- water gilding, casein
painted, to simple sanded and waxed hard woods – offer infinite
possibilities. Shop owner Corinne Patch has been framing for the last
13 years, in New York and D.C., where she framed a number of pieces
for the Smithsonian; and for the last 6 years here in Austin at “the
other best frame shop in town” Gentry Custom Frames. The aim
of Silver Leaf is to create beautiful AND affordable one of a kind
frames for all of Austin’s artists and collectors. |
