Mark Macek has been designing and building modern,
coveted, custom furniture in Austin for ten years. In response to his
long-standing desire to make his furniture designs available to more
people, Macek Solid Arts debuted its first production line of tables
at ICFF in Spring of 2005, to provide designed, handmade pieces to
a not-necessarily-custom audience. Mark Macek designs with the relaxed
eye of a purist. A table is distilled to its most elemental identity.
He leaves the wood to speak as wood, but allows the construction to
surpass the viewer's expectations. Macek has a Bachelor of Architecture
degree from The University of Texas at Austin. |
