Kourtney Moon has been working with fiber for almost six years, exploring different techniques with the basic knit and purl. All her pieces are different in the sense that she knits and knits in a freeform or intuitive manner. There are no patterns written out of her pieces (yet) and she more or less draws a picture or takes a mental image in her head of an idea and creates it one stitch at a time. She has difficult conforming to the rigid rules of patterns, and most of the ideas that come to her are not available anyway. She has participated in Crammed Organisms, Philly’s Art Star Craft Bazaar, sold work in Parts and Labour and has will have her work showing at Creekside in October 2009.
