EAST
AUSTIN STUDIO TOUR
Saturday
November 17th &Sunday 18th, 2007
10:00 am - 5:00 pm
Welcome
to the 6th annual East Austin Studio Tour. This year we celebrate
the work of more than 200 artists at over 100 studios artists
of extraordinary range with the common thread of working
within the few square miles of central east Austin that has recently
emerged as one of the highest concentration of artists in Central
Texas.
E.A.S.T. is a free self guided tour
open to the public. The tour offers art collectors, enthusiasts
and the general public the rare opportunity to visit the inside
of artists’ studios.
Look through the website or catalog and find the studios you want
to visit, check out the E.A.S.T. map for the location and look
out for the studio signs outside all the artist studios.

Ride
Your Bike
And
in the spirit of suggesting that you reduce your speed—if only just a little bit—we are making bicycles
the theme for this year’s E.A.S.T. Bicycles necessarily slow
us down, reducing our field of view from an entire swath of streets
to maybe just a few blocks. And they are also environmentally cool – leaving
little impact. This year we’re working with the Yellow
Bike Project and Metrocycle Pedicabs to make it easier for people
from
all over Austin to enjoy the tour in an environmentally friendly,
low-impact fashion.
So
what is being said at this year’s E.A.S.T.? That is for you
to find out. As a participant, you take on the vital role of the
listener. Tune in, see what you like, ask questions, maybe take
something home with you. With this book, and your trusty E.A.S.T.
map, you are ready.
