My paintings in encaustic and oil are explorations in color and form. I’m very interested in playing with the tension between abstraction and representation. Some of my work is a personal response to all things around me – searching for my own unique visual language. Other paintings deal with images of energy unleashed, such as tornadoes and hurricanes.
Whatever the subject, I hope to challenge the viewer to look beyond what is being referenced to the beauty that’s right before their eyes -- the colors and shapes of paint.
