The Looking Glass Collective is a group of women artists (Carolyn Bottler | Neela Reedm | Maisha Barrett | Brooke Gassiot) who met in art school and joined together to support each other’s art making post graduation. We meet every other week to critique work and discuss readings in art criticism and feminist theory. We discuss the role of gender and politics in art production, curation, and reception. Our ideas and work are diverse but we share a critical perspective on concepts of beauty, femininity, decoration, artistic genius, and the art/craft hierarchy. We are open to new members who share our passion!
