Jacqueline May is a visual
artist who works with layers of ideas in dialogue with one another.
On her good days, the realms of spirit,
poetry and science intersect to create a fuller picture of the whole.
Although she fully relishes the physicality and color of paint, her
current works are tending to include layers of translucent and reflective
collage materials, with an increasing focus on art forms such as
video that have no physical substance at all, the better to reflect
the ephemeral nature of life. She’s been at it for years and
years, and has contributed substantially in other ways through professional
service in the Texas art community. You can see more of her work
at Galeria Ortiz Contemporary in San Antonio.
