Emily Hoyt draws balls,
packing tubes, and straws repeatedly on large panels of mylar. “Like a swarm of bees or a courtyard
filled with people, I work with separate elements that are intimately
connected to one another. In this moment they are cohesive, joined,
choreographed and in the next they disperse, blow apart, and disappear.” Emily
has a B.A. in Art and English from Humboldt State University in California,
and divides her work time between Pump Project Art Complex and AISD.
