Debra Broz’s mixed media work is about tactility, language and words, obsession, fragmentation, connection, and intuition. She often thinks about the place where the logical and mystical meet. She likes little fragments of text, obsessive mark-making, and the feel of a needle puncturing paper. Over the years she has amassed a large collection of natural objects, and she is sure that they inform her work in some way. When she is not making art she works as a porcelain restorer and as co-editor of Cantanker magazine.
