Combining interests in
photography and environmental science, Carey has worked for The
Nature Conservancy, served as a wilderness ranger
and firefighter for the U.S. Forest Service and as a forestry consultant
in the Khangai Nuruu National Park of central Mongolia. As a filmmaker,
his credits include director of “Roosevelt’s Forest Army,” a
Civilian Conservation Corps documentary, and assistant producer and
post-production consultant on Terrence Malick’s fourth film, “The
New World.”
In addition to displaying exhibition prints, Carey’s short
film “Mongol Kino,” about the families in his portraits
will be screened at the top of each hour.
